It is a big one. Double digits. I really can't believe it. Honestly, wasn't it just yesterday when we heard the doctor say, "It's a girl!" Where have all of those days gone? I won't get all sappy here; that happened last night. Just a few photos to show how we celebrated this special day.

Five friends and a trip to the circus. To watch the eyes on these girls (and my boys) widen was so satisfying.
A short walk to the car as they all shared their favorite part. Of course Libby's was the elephants.
Back home for cake and ice cream. Martha Stewart's tissue paper pom-poms decorated the dining room.
I usually always make a cake, but this year purchased one from our favorite bakery. Something about the time spent at the sewing machine gave me little time to bake a cake. That's o.k., this was beautiful and delicious.
And party favors? Bags of course. "Library totes" as Libby calls them. Done in circus fabric I purchased from the fabric shack.
Each bag personalized with the little girls initial, stamped onto ribbon. I got this idea from Sarah. I just loved when she did it on a gift. Something special to remember this special day.

The gift bags are a genius idea!! For Clarabel's bday we do a cd and I've been thinking of what we could do for Laila. Totally stealing your idea now that I'm learning to sew and all.

  36. How sweet! And if it makes you less sad, I'll remind you of what "those days" are/were like...dirty dishes, toys to trip over, sleep blocked in 2 hour or less segments, and tons of dirty diapers...the sweet baby breath makes up for it all, of course. :)

Seriously though, ten has to be a blast; developing her own style, reading great books, starting on her journey to becoming a teen... Kids are just awesome, huh.

You are one popular lady. I just looked at my stats for the first time in about four days and couldn't for the life of me figure out why I had nearly 600 hits today when it's been five days since my last post. It was you.

The bags and their tags are wonderful. Very well done. I'm glad Libby's 10th was so well enjoyed and I hope the celebrating spilled over into today. A decade deserves that, don't you think?

  70. I went out and bought some letter stamps because I love the way you personalized those totes. Question, is the ribbon you made those little tags out of like a cotton fabric or just a ribbon that you buy on a spool?

    It's just the perfect touch!

  71. that's a very sad picture of the circus. i love your blog, but do you think the elephants really want to be doing those tricks? i think they'd rather be in the grass with their families... enjoying life.
