For some reason, I'm thinking that my excitement about this sweater is not showing in these photos. (Note to self: stop placing hand firmly on hip in photos.) However, I am excited about this sweater. And super excited that it is finished. The pattern was interesting and the yarn some of my favorite, (I absolutely loved anticipating the change of color) but for some reason, I felt myself having a hard time working on this one. It may just have been some winter moods floating around.
I spoke about the construction. Working from right sleeve cuff to left sleeve cuff, adding the long ribbed collar and front panel last. Definitely a different construction and something different if you are used to knitting sweaters in pieces.

Pattern: Elizabeth
Yarn: 10 balls 7899 Cloudy Dawn Liberty Wool by Classic Elite (100% washable wool)
Needles: US 7
Size: small

So, to my anonymous commenter... would I recommend Elizabeth? Absolutely. She's going to be great to wear. And if you need any encouragement along the way, I will be happy to cheer you on.

Tomorrow is March!

  7. everything you knit fits you perfectly. I still have trouble with guage and making things fit me. So much work and I'm often disappointed. I love this sweater and you do such a beautiful job on everything you make. I'm so glad you share your finished projects.

    Wow, impressive..
I feel for your photographic dilemna, but how else is one supposed to stand? If you let both arms hang down, people can't tell as much. If both hands are on hips, things get distorted around the all-important collar. One hand on hips is the obvious solution. Unless you want to add a dozen pictures per post, which gets old. So there you are :-)..

  29. bravo! bravo! this is beautiful. turned out so well and looks great on you.

i can see why you had trouble getting excited about working on it though. there's a lot of knitting in that sweater! i did a Norah Gaughan all-in-one-piece knit for my first knit sweater and i remember feeling less than enthused at times. as you say - knitting the whole thing in one piece is different than knitting it in pieces or even knitting one top down.
