11 years, 1 week, 1 day

Friday, June 14, 2019

I started this project on June 2, 2008.  Yep.  I worked on it that summer and fall quite a bit taking it to all my kids sporting events.  Then I just became tired of the seed stitch.  Over the years I picked it up a few times.  Maybe knitting one color.   However, for at least the last 6 years it sat in a bag.  Four years ago I moved it to the laundry room thinking if I could see it, then maybe I would work on it.  Occasionally it would catch my eye, but most days my eyes would gaze over it not giving it a thought.
Then one day, I felt as if it were longingly looking at me as if to say, "Please give me some love, Leslie".  So I picked it up, organized the yarn and decided to finish it before starting anything else.
This project sat on that set of US 7 needles for 11 years, 1 week and 1 day.  So grateful to free both the needles and the blanket.  It truly was a labor of love.

Pattern:  Seed Stitch Throw
Yarn:  Classic Elite Four Seasons

  5. I don't know about you but I always feel like a weight has been lifted when I finish a project that's been left too long. My daughter just wrote a speech that she gave at her workplace about enduring and then you get a magical moment. It's finished and it's beautiful, and worth waiting 11 years 1 week and 1 day.

  7. Mein gott ! - it would've taken me much longer ! What you guys call 'seed' stitch (we call it moss stitch) means moving the yarn EVERY SINGLE STITCH. How you managed to finish it at all is beyond me: you deserve some kind of award. [grin]

  9. I really want to thank Dr Emu for saving my marriage. My wife really treated me badly and left home for almost 3 month this got me sick and confused. Then I told my friend about how my wife has changed towards me then she told me to contact Dr Emu that he will help me bring back my wife and change her back to a good woman. I never believed in all this but I gave it a try. Dr Emu casted a spell of return of love on her, and my wife came back home for forgiveness and today we are happy again.
