It took me a while to put this sweater together. It also took me a while to get photos. I can only blame that on daylight savings time and the color. The color of the yarn.
While I love everything about this sweater, I have one regret that I didn't make it in the natural color. Something about those cables... look so good in natural.

Pattern: Aidez
Yarn: Berroco peruvia quick, 9 hanks 9165 indigo.
Needles: 10.5 US
Size: Small

I do love it. It is a pretty quick knit resulting in a sweater that can be thrown on just about all of the time. I really like the long lines and drape. Soooo many people have made this telling you the balance of this project totally works. Easy yet challenging. Chunky yarn that makes it quick yet requires a bit of brain power to slow you down.
Thanks Berroco, for yet another wonderful pattern.

  7. As I was one of those many to suggest Aidez, I am certainly happy you like it. I love this sweater and would make another if I didn't have a ton of other knitting I'd like to do!
I made mine in a natural shade, but I love your navy.

Ahhh! Beautiful. I am working on my last sleeve now! Yay. Similar color to your blue, which I love your color selection, but I am concerned about size. Yours looks great. I am making the M and am hoping it won't be too big/ long. Hmmm. So pretty!

  18. i understand what you mean about cables popping in a natural color yarn - but i think this looks great indigo. it will be a super handy sweater to have and throw on.

so i'm glad you made it in this color. but ouch on the dark yarn and winter light for knitting.

  22. Gorgeous, as usual! I love your color choice. I made mine in a wine color, and I love it, but I do have enough skeins of navy that I'm seriously considering making it again. But next time, I might use a smaller needle size--the first one I used US11 and made the small, and it's a little big.

  23. Leslie, it's just perfect. I have to agree with another commenter who thought yours looked better than the pattern model - yours is a great fit! And I know the navy wasn't your first choice, but it looks smashing on you. The cables DO pop. Love it!!!!! Happy new fall sweater!

  26. Leslie, you are a friend to give us a view of this lovely cardigan, and the info so that we might attempt one of our own.

I see what you mean about it's having just that perfect blend of enough detail to keep it interesting to knit, yet enough simplicity and a gauge that will guarantee speedy results.

The color you've chosen to use is a good one. I like doing Aran inspired patterns in colors, even some surprising colors.

    Bravo!

Love it! I made Aidez in midnight blue as well... but I used a different yarn. I agree with you in the sense the dark color doesn't really highlight the different stitches. However, dark blue looks fabulous on blondes! Enjoy!

I think it's gorgeous! I wasn't so sure about this one at first because I thought it looked a little too big on the model. There was just something about the fit on her. But now that I see it on you, I'm sold. Then I saw the many that have been made on Ravelry and think I want to give it a whirl. I love the color you chose, too.
