lounging

This is one of those projects that is so darn easy with such pleasing results.  Even if you are a new sewer, you can make these.  The directions are super easy and super detailed.  The biggest problem I had with these is showing them to you.  Because really, am I putting my photo on the internet in my jammies?  No, I'm not sleeping in these.  No way.  Ahem.
Lounge Pants from Amy Butler's In Stitches book. I used a thrifted sheet out of my sheet stash. (Idea prompted by Soulemama)  I think I paid $2.00 for it.  I am so tempted to use every sheet I have to make more.  Although, I will restrain from doing that, I will make more.  A few more.
I omitted the trim from the bottom, because, well I just didn't feel like doing it. This pair is a little long.  Just a tad.  However, with the fit and the comfort level, these have fast become my favorite lounge pant.

Enjoy your weekend.

I saw a pair of these on Soulmama's blog a while back which prompted me to add Amy's book to my wish list. Yours look super comfortable. Now, if I could only get comfortable using a sewing machine. I have a stack of vintage sheets just waiting around for something.

Seriously? I thought those were pictures of Libby when I first saw them! So, you made them from a sheet? You are amazing! Too cute.

When you mentioned trim, I had flashbacks to last week's Project Runway when Chris used human hair as trim. But I digress...

  37. Those are way cozy looking! I like to thrift for flat sheets too -- I use them for backings for blankets...then I find cheapo old/ugly blankets for the inside so I don't have to mess about quilting them down. :)

  50. It is things like this that make me really really want to learn to sew. I have two broken sewing machines in my closet right now because every time I try to learn I break them. No one can figure out what I am doing wrong...maybe I need to actually take a class. I am inspired now to actually go out and find one! You are so talented!

I actually love that they're a bit long. I wonder if they could be adapted into yoga pants... Hmm... As they are now they'd be pretty loose and not great but maybe with a few alterations.

I love the fabric, too. Just right for early March -- clearing away the dark of February with something cheery.
