winter

Friday, January 25, 2008

There is no denying, I love winter. As I have said before, I love all seasons. And my favorite, is always the one I am currently in. To commemorate Shari's Winter White week, we enjoyed french onion soup, with white wine, of course. The kids had leftovers from the week.

A shot of my favorite stairs, on a walk we take often through the woods. I photograph these stairs almost every time I see them.

Enjoy your weekend everyone.

Knitting to commence soon, I promise.

  6. So sweet, Leslie, that you enjoy all seasons. I now enjoy all of them (now that I don't live where it rains 9 months of the year) except when it's VERY hot in the summer---I'm a wimp when it comes to heat.

I think I'd take a photo of those stairs, too. They're very inviting.

French Onion Soup. Yum. Did you make the big crouton for the top? I love that.

  14. lovely! do your kids not like French Onion Soup? or does the wine not cook down enough to feel comfortable giving it to children maybe? As a child it was one thing I'd be most excited to see on a restaurant menu. I've never made it at home-- I'm definitely trying that recipe!

i've really enjoyed all of your winter whites!

  21. I love winter too. This year is especially beautiful where we are. In recent years, the winters in Western Montana have been gray and brown and long. But this winter has been white for weeks! Soooo beautiful. I contributed one photo to winter white week as well. Thanks for letting us know about it!

  29. I love those stairs! As an aside, if you're interested, I just learned this excellent tip to avoid crying while cutting onions; and since I'm helpful and housewifey that way, I'll share: wear swim goggles. It works great, and has the added benefit of making you look very sexy while doing your kitchen work!
