couldn't be happier
Monday, February 11, 2008I must admit, I feel a bit funny about posting these photos. Especially after all of your lovely comments on my tangled yoke, already. I so appreciate every single one. Thank you! Please, do not feel the need to comment on it. In fact, unless you are interested in making this, you should just move on down your bloglines. Really, I won't mind.
Since I did say I would show action shots, and since I did have my husband stand in 13 degree weather (because I wanted to be next to my favorite wall) and photograph it, I feel the need to post these. And, I wanted to let you know a few things I learned as I went along.

This is one of those knits that I liked SO much better off the needles than on. I don't know if it was the tedious rib, or the sleeves that made me feel like I was making socks, or the tangled cable that I had a horrible time with. But, I don't think there is a sweater I have ever been happier to have off of the needles. And, I really love it off the needles.

Yarn: Rowan Felted Tweed color 147, 6 balls. It calls for 7 balls. I only used 6, and had about 2 yards left. That is it.
Needles: size 5, circular and double point.
Modifications: I made the sleeves a little longer, 18 1/2 inches, because I do have long arms. I also only used 7 buttons instead of 9, because I had those buttons in my stash.
This sweater also requires blocking. I am not a huge blocker, in fact, I rarely block. However, when you block it, the cables relax.

Bottom Line: I do love this sweater. The yarn, the fit, the simplicity of it. I think it will be in heavy rotation in my wardrobe.
