LOL, you're too funny. I did knit fetching, but the ones I kept for me I would have liked to be longer, my fingers still get cold! I do like the sound of dinner - might have to try that ;-)

I made Fetching for my aunt for Christmas... loved it.

I must confess. I knit and drive...kinda. I have it on my lap. and at stop lights or long starbuck drivethru lines, I knit. I seem to be much calmer in the traffic now.

Been there, knit fetching. You'll love them; I do. What yarn are you using? I used Jo Sharp Silk Road (I think).

I manage a pottery painting store and absolutely LOVE my job, but when I'm not tending to customers or loading/unloading kilns, all I can think about is knitting. I speed on the freeway on my way home, just so I'll have those extra couple of minutes to knit. Cooking, cleaning, laundry, email... they all get in the way of my knitting needles! I don't much care for fingerless gloves (maybe because I have lived my whole life in Georgia), but these are quite lovely... lovely enough for me to understand why you couldn't put the yarn down.

Maybe this is an urban legend, but I've heard that knitters are the reason there's a pocket across the front of aprons....so when the women of yore used to wait for water to boil, they could knit a few rows on their socks. Gives "slogging along" a totally different meaning.

I don't usually get that way over dinner, but it always happens in the last race to the finish line in a project. More projects than I can count have been derailed this way because I just couldn't (didn't) stop myself from starting something new with less than a week's worth of work to go!
